Obviously the most important things to pack are your tickets. The night before you go, put them in a pocket in your bag that you wont need to open, and dont get them out again untill you need them, this way you cant lose them.

Take as much as you can, because you will run out. Dont know how, it just happens. Better to take too much and bring some home than run out on the last night when everyones partying. I take at least two 24 crates of Stella (cant go wrong), and that just lasts me. If you drink more than me i dont want to meet you.
Vitally important, cos even if you dont sleep all weekend, you need somewhere to stash your stuff and shelter from the rain (it will come). Our tips for tents would be to get the biggest you can get for your money, the quality doesn't matter as long as its waterproof / tight, but the size is vital. You need to stash all your gear, sleep, get dry and change your clothes in your tent, so get the cheapest, biggest tent you can find. Its worth it.
Lets face it, most of us like a smoke, and a festival is the perfect atmosphere to get ripped to the tits. Good music, good company and a good smoke, cant wait. Anyway, im getting sidetracked. Be careful if you are taking illegal substances, they are still illegal at a festival, so be discreet. See above rules for beer, the same applies.
You may be thinking "A waterproof container? has he gone mad?" but we thought it just deserved a section of its own. You see it has many functions. It is vital if it rains.
Rizlas/fags/tobacco and water dont mix, and if you smoke or "smoke" you will need all of these. Money and water doesnt match, im talking notes of course, and you dont want soggy tenners.
Toilet roll and water doesnt go too well either. A simple waterproof container, i.e a tupperware box, is a perfect solution to all three above problems, so take one.
You can also eat beans out of them!!
